The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many storefront businesses to close their doors. The safety of our customers and staff is important, so please stay home and do all you can to avoid coronavirus and be healthy. Second to Nature has products in stock and can ship items to you. Thankfully, we have the technology to do video conferences on FaceTime. So we welcome customers to continue to reach out to us with any questions. We are here for you!
As of June 15, 2020: Services Available by Appointment Only
At this time during the COVID-19 pandemic Second to Nature is accepting in-person visits by appointment only. We are still working by phone to consult and help you get new supplies, but if this is not an option we can schedule you an appointment. If you make an appointment, we will have you call when you arrive in the parking lot. We request that all customers stay in the car upon arrival. We will take your temperature and ask some of the same questions the CDC recommends for medical facilities at this time. Our staff will ask you to sign a consent form agreeing to be fit in-person during this pandemic, since there are risks associated with being in the public.
On our part, masks are a requirement for both our certified fitter and their client. We will take you directly to a sanitized fitting room and have several containers of sanitizer placed through the store and available to use. Our robes will be washed and cleaned after each use. We will work to have as little contact as possible and bring the items into the fitting room for you to try with our certified fitter present and advising. We request that any friends or family support you by staying in the car unless prior arrangements are made.
These adjustments may be stressful to some, but please remember, we are in this together. During this process we are working our hardest to give to ourselves to our community and be there for you, and above all, put your health first.
Coronavirus Changes the Way Second to Nature Does Business
Currently, Medicare is allowing providers to use everyday video-conferencing apps like FaceTime and Skype for telemedicine. Waiving any penalties related to privacy that normally apply to those apps is a good faith attempt to serve patients under these circumstances. Using technology such as our work iPad/Apple ID to initiate the call, our staff at Second to Nature can perform any visual needs related to fittings. Our fitter may also offer instruction on the best way for patients to measure themselves if necessary.
The health, safety, and welfare of everyone at Second to Nature is of utmost importance to us. We continue to take necessary steps to make sure that we do our part in helping prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are closely monitoring our staff using the recommendations of the CDC and ask that our patients take the necessary and recommended precautions as well to protect yourselves and others if you think you might be affected by this virus.
Care for Those with Underlying Health Conditions
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the recommendations of the State of VA about those 65 years of age and older and those with underlying health conditions:
- We will not be seeing patients in person at our office at this time.
- As for payments remotely, we can take credit card payments over the phone.

- For now, Second to Nature will be open to talk to you on the phone about your needs. We are also reminding our patients and clients that we do offer refill fittings by phone and free shipping.
